Ukrainian prime minister promises to provide the whole world with Ukrainian grain
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko believes that this year the harvest trend shows that Ukraine recovers its fame of the breadbasket of the world. She said this today, on June 4, after having reviewed the process of collection of early cereals from a field in Nikolayev Region, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
The prime minister congratulated Odessa Region on the harvest of 1 mn ton of crops. She said 0.5 mn ton of the grain crop had been collected by today. Yulia Timoshenko reminded that, according to forecasts, this year, Ukraine would collect two times more crops than last year. “This trend shows that Ukraine recovers the fame of the global breadbasket, but the government should work a bit to recover the old fame,” noted the prime minister.
