Churkin: Russia does not recognize Kosovo's independence
Despite recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Russia is not going to take analogous steps regarding Kosovo. Russia's envoy to UN Vitaly Churkin made the statement on Aug 26. He also informed journalists that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has been handed an official letter of President of the Russian Federation on recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, RTR TV channel reports.
