Kazakhstan calls on the west and Russia to start talks
Kazakhstan calls on the countries of the west and Russia to retreat from mutual accusations and start talks on the situation in the Republic of South Ossetia. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev stated this at his parliament's session Sep 2, Kazinform reports.
''We call on the countries of the west and Russia to retreat from mutual accusations and switch to negotiations for the stabilization of the situation, based on the priority of the fundamental principles of the international law. All the world is waiting for this,'' Nazarbayev stated. He called on the conflicting sides ''to switch to negotiations based on the six articles approved by Medvedev and Sarkozy.''
''In the situation of the one-sided appraisal by the western countries and filibuster against Russia, we have declared our support of measures taken by the Russian Federation for ensuring stability in the region and curbing the bloodshed,'' the Kazakhstani President emphasized.
