Read it in Russian

NATO has intergated Georgia to its system of airspace control, NATO Spokesman James Appathurai announced.

According to the official, last week, systems of Georgia's and NATO airspace control were unified. This will allow Georgia to enhance air safety by receiving access to Alliance's systems of air traffic control. At the same time, NATO will receive information from Georgian radars, Appathurai said.

He also commented that, as a result of the combat in Georgia, the country's air traffic control system was largely destroyed. Therefore, to make the joint airspace control system work, radars have to be restored, of which Tbilisi appealed to NATO Aug 19, 2008, Kavkaz-press informs.
