Moscow: Nagorno Karabakh a different story
Moscow draws no parallels between the situation around Abkhazia and South Ossetia and Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov stated at a press conference on Sep 4 following meeting of foreign ministers of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries.
Lavrov said that the regime of Saakashvili in the cases of Abkhazia and South Ossetia led to destruction of all negotiation formats and other mechanisms of the conflicts' settlement; it consistently aggravated the situation in the conflict zones, trying to affect the situation in security zones created in early 1990s.
Worthy of note, the truce in Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone is maintained exclusively by the balance of powers between the conflicting sides. There are no third countries' peacekeeping contingents in the Karabakh conflict region.
