We are greatful to those who support us and those who will find courage to do it Kosachev
The number of states who recognize sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia may eventually exceed the number of those who recognized Kosovo, Chairman of the State Duma International Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev. He commented Sep 4 that Russia was not trying to go out of its way to gain support of its position regarding Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Nothing of the kind is going on, Kosachev says. However, he adds, undoubtedly, understanding and support of the Russia's position on the issue on the part of other countries is a very important factor. But this is not an end in itself that has to be achieved by all means, he explains. We are greatful to the countries who already support us morally and those who will find courage to do it, politically and diplomatically, Kosachev said.
I am positive that Nicaragua will not be alone, the MP said, adding that he understands how difficult the decision is, taking into account the pressure that, for certain, is applied against these countries by the USA.
Sep 3, government of Nicaragua announced of its recognition of independence of the already recognized by Russia republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
