There are enough international monitors in Abkhazia and South Ossetia now – Russian foreign ministry
The Russian Foreign Ministry believes the number of international observers, workings in Abkhazia and South Ossetia is fully sufficient, declared Andrei Nesterenko, the spokesman for the MFA of Russia while speaking at a press conference in Moscow on September 12, informs a REGNUM correspondent. There are international missions in both Caucasus republics – the UN Mission is working in Abkhazia, and in South Ossetia the observation was carried out by 8 representatives from the OSCE. At this stage these observers are fully sufficient, declared Nesterenko.
At the same time, he reminded, that leaders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia many times expressed their trust to the Russian peacekeepers, who are securing peace in the regions. Nesterenko added that all arrangements for security of the republics in accordance with the requests of their leadership would be executed by the Russian armed forces.
