Ukrainian analyst: Washington will instruct Yushchenko to behave even more radically with Russia
"First of all, the questions of granting NATO Membership Action Plan to Ukraine and the Ukrainian-Russian relations will be discussed during the of visit of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko to the USA and his meetings with the US leadership ". Vitaly Kulik, a political scientist, director of the Research Center for Civil Society Problems, expressed his opinion to a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev today, on September 23.
According to him, the first bloc of questions will be the American-Ukrainian relations and the US support of Ukraine integration into NATO. “The conduct of the December summit of NATO member-countries, readiness of Ukraine for the summit and prospects of granting NATO MAP to Ukraine also will be discussed. They will focus upon issues of maintaining political stability in the country. There will be no integration and support from Washington without internal stability,” said the expert.
He believed that the second bloc of questions will be the Ukrainian-Russian relations and the conflict in the Caucasus. “In these conversations, Washington will make an effort to correct the behavior of Kiev for more radicalization and a tougher position towards Russia. Although, most likely, Kiev will not resort to such actions, because in order to conduct such policy they need to have their own resources, which Ukraine does not have,” stressed Vitaly Kulik.
