In the first half of 2008 by 31.4% housing less put into operation than in the same period of 2007

In the first half of 2008 in Russia, almost 240,500 apartments were put into operation with the total  area of 21,700,000 sq. meters, which totaled 102,9% (in a natural index, the increase totaled 500,000 sq. m.) as compared to the same period of previous year. This data was released in a review of premium real estate market for the fist half of 2008 of Kalinka-Realty Company.

The highest volumes of housing construction among the subjects of the Russian Federation were commissioned in Moscow Region, where for the fist half of 2008 10.1% from the total area of housing erected throughout whole Russia was commissioned on the whole (which in natural expression totaled 2,200,000 sq. m.).

On the second place, by the volumes of housing construction is Krasnodar Region — 7.6% (1,670,000 sq. m.), Moscow is on the third place with the share of housing construction of 5.4% (1,161,000 sq. m.).

The growth indexes for investigated period went down considerably as compared to the same period of 2007. So, for January-June of 2008, commissioned housing totaled 2.9% in compassion to the first half of 2007, while growth in 2007 in compassion to 2006 totaled 34.3%.

The decrease of volumes of commissioned housing (as compared to the first half of  2007) in Moscow totaled 50.7%, in Saint Petersburg – 19.6%, in Moscow Region – 7.0% and in Krasnodar Region – 1.7%.
