Two people kidnapped in South Ossetia's security zone
Two civilians have been kidnapped in Korkula village, Tskhinvali region, Republic of South Ossetia, the authorities of the republic report. The village is bordered by the Georgian village of Chere, which is located in the Georgian territory in the security zone, where international observers are currently deployed.
It is the second case of abduction during the time of presence of international observers here, the press service of the republican Interior Ministry noticed. As REGNUM reported before, Russia has fulfilled its obligations under the Medvedev Sarkozy plan and withdrew its troops from the buffer zones adjacent to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, passing the posts to EU observers.
