Sergey Bagapsh: Sukhum will participate in negotiations in Geneva on equal terms with Tbilisi
President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh met the EU Special Representative for the crisis in Georgia Pierre Morel on November, 10, a REGNUM correspondent reports. The sides discussed a possibility of Abkhazian participation in the Geneva process of settlement of the situation in Caucasus.
Bagapsh noted Abkhazia speaks for a civilized solution and discussion of all issues, but at the same time stressed that Sukhum would participate on equal footing with Tbilisi only. If anyone wants to represent us like the Georgian part, we will not participate. We never participated as the Georgian side at any meeting even being non-recognized. And now, it is even more unreal, Bagapsh stated. The president of Abkhazia also stressed an impermissibility of participation of the so-called alternative administrations of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in the meetings. Bagapsh also stressed Abkhazia has no intentions to have dialogue with the current criminal regime of Georgia. We've made sure that there is no reason to discuss anything with them. In Geneva, we resorted to such action only out of respect for such world leaders as Medvedev and Sarkozy, the Abkhaz president noted.
