South Ossetia hopes to be recognized by Belorussia
“The recognition of other states’ independence by Belorussia is strictly domestic issue of Belorussia”, — announced Alan Pliyev, the Deputy South Ossetian Foreign Minister, commenting the scheduled debates of recognition of South Ossetian and Abkhazian independence in Belorussian parliament. In conversation with a REGNUM correspondent the Deputy foreign minister stressed, that “according to Lukashenko, such decisions will be adopted without any pressure, including pressure of Georgia on the decision of Belorussian government ‘.
’South Ossetia hopes that Belorussia, and also other states would make positive decision concerning the recognition of South Ossetian independence. Our state has been working on, that other states followed an example of Russian Federation of August, 26, 2008 concerning recognition of our independence”, — underlined Pliyev.
As REGNUM informed earlier the Belarusian national legislature would debate the recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia at the spring session to begin on April 2.
