NATO propaganda to be banned in Ukraine?
Ukrainian greens registered a claim in Constitutional Court demanding to ban NATO propaganda. Leaders of the Ukrainian Green Party, including party leader Vitaly Kononov held a news conference in Kiev. According to Kononov, the party is tired of the provocative campaign held in the country. Social-democrats of East Ukraine are against NATO and for Joint Economic Space. Tarasyuk (Ukrainian Foreign Minister – REGNUM) and his company carry on campaign for NATO in West Ukraine. Multiple parties divide their power and in the same time they split the people! Some political provocateurs work for the Russian rubles, other for the American dollars, and we demand all to work for hryvnas (Ukrainian currency – REGNUM), for Ukraine! The only thing that can bring peace and concordance to the country is non-allied status of the country, stated Kononov.
He said that during last 15 years, the Ukrainian Greens have consistently insisted on such status, even if it does not need any more defense because of legislation, because non-allied status has been the basis of the State Sovereignty Declaration and Independence Act. He reminded that Ukraine always balanced between Moscow, Istanbul and Warsaw, but peace and prosperity came only when country did not enter any alliances, so the only chance for Ukraine is to become like Switzerland – without foreign military bases or toxic wastes deposits, but with rich banks and flocks of tourists.
Kononov informed everybody that 5 million hryvnas were granted from the state budget for pro-NATO propaganda among the population. An anti-NATO referendum, that is currently organized, will also cost a lot.
That is why the Green Party registered a claim in the Constitutional Court demanding ban to pro-NATO propaganda in the country. Ukraine is a neutral and non-allied country, and no one can stir up the passions and act for split of the countries, concluded Kononov.
