USA is ready to render assistance to Georgia in providing for its energy security
Strategic issues of Georgian energy security were discussed in a phone talk between Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. As a REGNUM correspondent was told in the presidential press office, during the talk held on Sunday’s night, Rice said that the difficult energy situation in Georgia was an object of persistent Washington’s attention for the last several days and in this connection the American Department of State had everyday connection with the Russian party. The State Secretary also said the US is ready to render assistance and support in providing for Georgia’s energy security.
