Pre-election poll in Ukraine: Regions Party in the lead
According to polls, conducted by the Institute of social and political psychology, Ukraine's Regions Party leads the pre-election rating with 22%. As a REGNUM correspondent informs, polls demonstrate that 3% barrier will also pass Block of Yulia Timoshenko (14.7%), Our Ukraine Bloc (13.8%), the Socialist party of Ukraine (6%), People's Block of Litvin (5.8%) and the Communist party of Ukraine (5.4%).
Close to 3% barrier are bloc Pora-PRP (2.8%) and Block on Natalya Vitrenko People's Opposition (2.5%). Chances to be elected in parliament still exist to Block of Kostenko-Plushch (1.9%), opposition coalition Ne Tak! (1.7%) and the all-Ukrainian Freedom coalition (1.4%). Regions Party has the highest support in Donetsk Basin, Crimea, and other eastern and southern regions. In central regions the BYT is in the lead, and in Kiev and in western parts of the country (except Galitsk region) the BYT is head to head with Our Ukraine.
The poll was conducted on January 20-27. 2,000 respondents were questioned in 334 settlements (146 cities and 188 villages). Poll was conducted on quotable selection, among the citizens older than 18. The statistical error is 2.4%. According to the polls, conducted by the Sotcis Center for Social and Political Studies, more than 34% are ready to vote for the Regions Party. Second is Our Ukraine with about 20%, then BYT with less than 13%. Also, the 3% barrier will be overcome by the Socialist party of Ukraine, People's Block of Litvin, the Communist party of Ukraine, Block on Natalya Vitrenko People's Opposition and the opposition coalition Ne Tak!. But according to the sociologists, the situation can change. The poll included 2,000 respondents, with statistical error of 2.3%.
