Burjanadze is satisfied with deepening of Georgian-Azerbaijani relations
Delegation headed by the First Deputy Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Ziyafet Askerov took part in the international conference Reforms and cooperation’s strategies, organized in Tbilisi by George Marshall Center and Georgian parliament. MPs from South Caucasus and Baltic countries participated in the conference.
As Azeri state AzTV-Channel reports, on the first day of visit, February 6, the Azerbaijan delegation was received by Georgian parliament’s speaker Nino Burjanadze. Cordially welcoming the guests, Burjanadze expressed her satisfaction with further deepening of the Georgian-Azerbaijan relations. She stressed, that the republic’s population with thanks accepted brotherly friendly assistance, rendered them during those difficult days, when her country faced energy crises.
At that time, she reminded, president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev ordered straight away after a telephone conversation with his Georgian colleague Mikhail Saakashvili to supply Georgia with gas and energy. Burjanadze said also, she was sure that Azerbaijan-Georgian parliamentary relations would intensify in future too.
Head of Azerbaijan delegation Ziyafet Askerov thanked Nino Burjanadze for a hearty welcome and passed her good wishes of President Ilham Aliyev and Milli Majlis’ speaker Ogtay Asadov. He stressed that development of relations between two countries has a high importance not only for them, but also for well-being and tranquility of all people in the region.
