Turin 2006: Totmianina and Marinin – good chances to win
Russian mass media believe that the Russian team competes in Turin much better, comparing with Olympiad in Salt-Lake-City. In 2002, Russians had only one medal silver, after 2 days of competitions. Now, Russia already has three medals – Evgeny Dementiev’s gold for cross-country skiing, Evgeniya Medvedeva-Arbuzova’s bronze in the same discipline and Albert Demchenko’s silver in luge.
On February 13, we can expect victory of figure skating tournament’s leaders Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin. Also, Maria Petrova and Alexey Tikhonov have good chances to win a medal. In addition to figure skaters, Novye Izvestia newspaper waits for heroic deeds in biathlon from Olga Pyleeva, Albina Akhatova, Svetlana Ishmuratova, Anna Bogaliy-Titovets, who starts 15 km individual race. Dmitriy Dorofeev can surprise too.
