President of Russian Olympic Committee: The banned medicine was prescribed to Pyleva by doctor
President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tagachyov has commented to the Ves Sport News Agency on the positive drug test taken from Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva.
I am at the ski venue right now and watch the women’s 10 km race. Head of the Russian Anti-Doping Inspection Nikolay Durmanov has already phoned me and told about the situation. Pyleva really has some problems. But, as Durmanov told me, everything was not so unambiguous. The drug found in Olga’s test was prescribed to her by her doctor in Krasnoyarsk. According to Durmanov, the drug was enlisted by Olga in those she took before the Olympics. Unfortunately, I failed to remember to what group the medicine belongs. The Russian team headquarters have started their own investigation. After the ski race I will immediately go to the biathlon venue to have the first-hand information.
