Figure skater Evgeny Plushenko became an Olympic champion
Three times world champion, five times Europe champion Evgeny Plushenko became an Olympic champion in men’s figure skating. On February 16, he performed his free program in Olympic Games in Turin. Referees evaluated his program with 167.67 points, which are his personal record. The final score for his both performances (short and free programs) totaled 258.33.
The Swiss Stéphane Lambiel (231.21 points) is on second place, and the Canadian Jeffrey Buttle won bronze, informs Newsinfo. Second Russian figure skater – Ilya Klimkin – took 11th place. His result is 191.80 points.
