Olga Pyleva gets two year ban
The International Biathlon Union (IBU) has decided to disqualify Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva for two years because of banned medicine use, as Ves Sport news agency has been informed by IBU president Anders Besseberg. Before the pronunciation of the verdict, Pyleva stated that she never used doping deliberately, and that current events are concatenation of bad circumstances, so she does not blames her coaches and doctors.
The only feeling I have, is that I let down all who trusted in me. I could not even think that the drug, produced by Russian Shelkovsky pharmaceutical company can be a doping, said the Russian athlete. She announced that disregarding any decision of the IBU, she ends her sport career, so her only aim now is to restore her good reputation, because during her 10-year career, she has never been involved in any medical problems. The Russian delegation passed all needed documents to IBU Disciplinary Commission, regarding the legality of the drug used by Pyleva in Russia, and a letter to WADA, where the Russian delegation explains the situation and asks to impose a ban on this drug.
