Bird flu found in Kalmykia
From February 21 to 25, in the Republic of Kalmykia (Russia) 139 chickens and turkeys died in a household of a local resident in Gorodovikovsky District. On February 26, a laboratory of the Federal Veterinarian and Phytosanitary Inspection detected bird flu virus by them. As a REGNUM correspondent was told by a source in the Russian Interior Ministry, on February 27 a session of the emergency situations commission is planned to be held.
