H5N1 approaches to human: Russia to offer a plan to struggle against bird flu
Dead cat is found on Ruegen Island in Germany. Tests have shown presence of H5N1 virus in the animal’s blood. Specialists state, that, earlier, cats fell sick of bird flu in Asia, eating birds, infected by the virus.
Meanwhile, geography of bird flu expands. Russia will suggest to adopt plan of straggle against bird flu, while presiding at G8, informed Vladimir Putin, according to Izvestia newspaper. Threat of appearance of new pandemic flu is possible next years. Russia is going to suggest activation of work in this direction, stressed the Russian president.
