Spring bird hunting can be banned in Byelorussia
To prevent spreading of bird flu, experts of inter-departmental coordination council against bird flu spreading in Byelorussia proposed to ban spring bird hunting. A session of the council took place in Minsk on February 28, informs a REGNUM correspondent. According to ornithologists, bird flu is most likely to appear in Byelorussia in spring, in places of mass bird gathering at water ponds. To lower the risk of poultry infections, the Council decided to conduct vaccination of all poultry that live in a radius of three kilometers of water ponds. It helps to conduct constant monitoring of the situation regarding the infection. The region, where bird flu is discovered, will be immediately quarantined. All the needed anti-epidemic measures will be undertaken.
