Irina Slutskaya refused to compete in World Championship in Calgary
Russian figure skater Irina Slutskaya has finally decided not to take part in figure skating world championship, which will take place in Calgary on March 20-26.
I will not participate in world championship in Calgary, confirmed Slutskaya, according to Ves Sport agency. It does not mean, I will lose heart and give way to despair. Now, I am going to make Russian sport fans happy by my free performances. Yes, my dream has not been realized, I have not received golden Olympic medal, but I am sure the best thing of my life is still ahead.
According to Slutskaya, her fall in Turin was the hardest one in all senses. I fell down – everything failed and I should nerve myself within part of second and continue to struggle for residuary elements. I am proud of fact, that I nerved myself and performed rest of program as real champion, said Irina Slutskaya.
