Byelorussian opposition held a mass-meeting at night
Byelorussian opposition conducted a meeting in Minsk. The action was unsanctioned and started in the evening of March 20. At daybreak, around 300 people were still at the central square of Minsk. All other went home because of the cold weather.
The protesters do not agree with the results of the presidential elections that took place on March 19. According to the information of the Central Electoral Committee, current President Alexander Lukashenko received nearly 83% of votes, while opposition candidate Alexander Milinkevich only 6%.
Police have not done anything against the protesters. On March 21, several sources in mass media informed that representatives of Milinkevich’s electoral HQ were arrested, when they were heading home, but Byelorussian police stated that they did not have such information, informs RTR.
