Georgian ombudsman sharply protests against actions of Byelorussian authorities
Immediate reaction of the Georgian government is necessary to such rough treatment of clergymen and violation of international law, stated Georgian ombudsman Sozar Subari for journalists on Tuesday, in connection with detention of three Georgian citizens, happened on the eve at a meeting of the Byelorussian opposition in Minsk: director of Religious council at administration of Georgian ombudsman Vladimir Gogiashvili, archpriest of Georgian Orthodox Church Basil (Kobakhidze), and head of Georgian Baptists, bishop Malkhaz (Songulashvili). As a REGNUM correspondent reports, the ombudsman sharply protested in connection with actions of Byelorussian authorities, stressing, that they violate universally recognized human rights and freedoms.
