South Ossetia wants to become a part of Russia through the Constitutional Court
South Ossetia will send in an application to the Russian Constitutional Court asking to admit it a part of Russia on the ground of historic documents, President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity has told the press in Vladikavkaz.
According to him, there is a document on the single Ossetia joining the Russian Empire in 1774, and there is no document on secession of the south part of Ossetia either from the Russian Empire, or from the Russian Federation. Why should we today pose the question of entering the Russian Federation, if have never dropped out of it? asked Kokoity.
The South Ossetian leadership has repeatedly announced its willingness to achieve the republic’s inclusion in the Russian territory.
