Alexander Milinkevich: On March 25 there will be no assault on presidential residency (Byelorussia)
Byelorussian ex-presidential contender Alexander Milinkevich is not planning to lead his supporters for an attack on presidential residency on March 25, Day of the Will. On March 22, he told the press in the central square of Minsk, that it would be a peaceful action and that he only wanted to demonstrate that we are not slaves. Some people think that someone will do everything for them. We can say that some Byelorussians are citizens, and some – simply residents. We want to demonstrate that there are more citizens. I'll be happy, if on March 25 more people come than on March 19-20, said Milinkevich.
Milinkevich also informed that he spoke with local authorities about a tent town. It was hopeless negotiations. But staying on the square is not the strategy of the HQ, he said.
Milinkevich said that he wanted to agree with students and businessmen about political demonstration on March 25. Addressing his followers, he said: Byelorussia will never be a slave republic. Each night he visits the square to support his followers. He said that during last two days he slept only for 3.5 hours.
