Byelorussian president: There is nothing behind many statements by the EU
Byelorussian President Alexander Lukashenko has called upon EU countries to be realistic in relations with Belarus. As newsinfo reports, the Byelorussian president made the statement, while visiting Grodno Region answering a question on how relations with neighbor countries will develop taking into account recent statements of their leaders.
Lukashenko declared that many of the statements should not be treated seriously. There are many statements, but we are realists and understand that there is nothing behind many of them, the Byelorussian leader said.
According to him, if someone wants to have a hot spot in Byelorussia, in the center of Europe, they should understand, it is hot enough in Europe already. In the heart of Europe it is hot enough: in Paris, London, Germany and other states. Why create another problem nearby? Someone wants to become famous for it or create image; it is a bad image, noted Lukashenko.
If Europeans are realists, they should establish relations with Byelorussia via diplomatic and political channels. As for economy, it is, fortunately, sometimes independent from politics, believes the Byelorussian president.
