Russian chief sanitary inspector proposes to wash eggs with soap
Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko has called Russians upon washing eggs thoroughly and boiling them for a longer time than usually. He made the statement on the threshold of the Orthodox Easter, which is to be celebrated on April 23 this year, in an attempt to warn about a possibility of bird flu infection spread. As far as I know, nobody eats raw eggs, when they are colored, they are, as a rule, boiled and then colored, or colored while being boiled. Naturally, before boiling the eggs, they should be washed thoroughly with soap, Onishchenko is quoted as saying by RSN. By the way, he noted that for being perfectly sure, eggs should be kept in boiling water for a longer time than usually.
