International women’s action to support BTC pipeline started in Baku
On May 1, international action called Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is guarantor of peace, security, stability and development in the region and initiated by the Azerbaijani National Women’s Confederation and the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party. Representatives of the three countries, which are crossed by the pipeline – Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey, participate in the action, reports a REGNUM correspondent.
Participants of the action started from Baku on May 1. They are planned to visit cities and provinces of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey and meet local residents. On May 2, the delegation is to visit Georgia and meet Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze, MPs and head of administration of Marneuli district, have talks with people who live in the places where the pipeline is to be laid.
On May 3, participants of the action are to visit Turkey. In Trabzon, Adan and Ceyhan they are scheduled to meet the public and visit the oil terminal in Ceyhan.
The action is to last for seven days.
