Byelorussian president forbidden to visit Estonia
On May 11, the Estonian government banned to grant entry visas, as well as Estonian transit visas to Byelorussian President Alexander Lukashenko and other Byelorussian high-ranking officials, Estonian governmental press office informed a REGNUM correspondent, mentioning that the decision was taken in accordance with the position of the European Union Council.
It should be reminded that the EU Council condemned human rights and election standards’ mass violations in April in Byelorussia on the eve and during the March 19 presidential elections. Council of Europe decided to introduce ban on visa granting and to impose sanctions against Byelorussian leaders, as well as other officials, immediately involved in violations of election standards.
