Lukashenko blacklisted by USA
US President George Bush has signed an order to impose sanctions against Byelorussian President Alexander Lukashenko’s family members, prohibiting them to entry the USA. The prohibition is also valid for family members of top-level Byelorussian officials, as well as persons, who have business ties with the Byelorussian government. The order was signed as early as on May 12, BBC stresses.
Bush blamed Byelorussian officials for gerrymandering during the elections, corruption and violations of human rights, which undermines democratic institutions in his official message on the matter.
