Russian senator: Prosecutor-General should not say there is corruption all over the country
When a prosecutor says everything is corrupted all over the country, something should be radically changed in this institution (Prosecutor-General’s Office — REGNUM), Russian Senator Vadim Gustov has said to a REGNUM correspondent commenting on resignation of Russia’s Prosecutor-General Vladimir Ustinov on June 2.
He made such statements repeatedly, particularly, in Minsk, so, he recognized the situation as it is and sent in his resignation. Absolute majority of our senators agreed to accept his resignation, Gustov said.
The situation in Russia is a very complicated one, but the Prosecutor-General is not supposed to say that corruption is all over the country. He had support of the president and senators, in the long run, believes Gustov.
On June 2, the Federation Council accepted Ustinov’s resignation by 140 votes for with two abstained.
