BTC Opening marked with ecologists protest meeting at US embassy
A rally for Caspian water area environment protection was held on July 13 in Moscow before the US embassy. The rally attendants addressed their protest to the US oil companies that violate numerous international conventions while using Caspian water area for transporting oil and oil products. Deputy Head of the Rosprirodnadzor environment protection agency Oleg Mitvol attended the meeting.
As was reported earlier, the opening ceremony of the largest Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline took place today in Ceyhan, Turkey. The pipeline will enable oil supplies (including Kazakhstani oil) to be transported by-passing the Russian territory. It is planned that Kazakhstani oil for filling the pipeline be delivered to Baku by oil-carrying vessels on the Caspian Sea.
