North Korea to continue to launch missiles
On July 16, the UN Security Council unanimously approved a resolution, condemning missiles tests, carried out by North Korea on July 5. The resolution urges North Korea to suspend all activities related to its ballistic missile program, to recommence a moratorium on missile launching, and to return immediately to the six-party (Russia, the USA, Japan, China, North and South Korea) talks. The resolution confirmed that such missiles launchings threaten the whole world.
The resolution requires all UN members to prevent materials and technology, which may be used for production of mass destruction weapons, from being transferred to North Korea.
Meanwhile, North Korean Ambassador to the UN Pak Gil Yon stated that his country did not recognize the resolution adopted, which was aimed, according to him, at isolation of North Korea. He labeled successful launchings as element of military maneuvers, aimed at rising of self-defense military potential. According to the ambassador, North Korea will continue to launch its missiles.
