German chancellor does not know G8 agenda for 2007
Next G8 meeting will take place on June 6-8, 2007 in Germany, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is quoted by a REGNUM correspondent as stating on July 17 at G8 summit final briefing. The meeting’s agenda is not ready yet. Of course, it will include struggle against poverty, and, maybe, something else.
Angela Merkel stressed that the meeting’s topics will depend on the situation in the whole world, beginning with discussion of question concerning Iran, Middle East conflict and so on. Perhaps, we will choose one subject, which has not been considered yet by G8 and may be not, the chancellor said. We will consult experts, after that decision will be taken.
According to Angela Merkel, other countries will surely be invited to attend the G8 summit in 2007. The fact that Mexico, Brazil and other countries attended events in 2006 is not just fine gesture of G8; it will be continued in Germany, Angela Merkel stated.
