Ukraine will receive gas under unnamed conditions
Talks on gas supplies to Ukraine in 2006 and 2007 are being held now at the level of agencies in charge, Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has announced at a meeting with Ukraine’s Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich. He noted that the Russian side is grounding upon agreements reached by Ukraine in January 2006. It is mentioned also that the parties have willingness to come to a compromise on gas supplies.
As REGNUM reported earlier, Ukraine and Russia agreed on details of establishing gas price for the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007. On August 16, the Ukrainian premier stressed that it will be a market price, but the mechanism of the price establishing will be transparent. According to him, conditions of gas supplies to Ukraine have been defined approximately, but they are not named.
At that Fradkov stressed that in gas talks movement should be active from both sides.
