MP Iosif Vinsky: Ukrainian Socialist Party turns into lackey of Donetsk clan
On September 30, Ukrainian Supreme Rada Member Iosif Vinsky is going to propose to Ukrainian Socialist Party (SPU) congress to replace its party leadership, a REGNUM correspondent informs. On August 29, Mr. Vinsky stated at a news conference in Kiev that the decision of socialist leader Alexander Moroz to enter the ‘anti-crisis’ coalition and to establish government together with the Regions Party diverges from at least ten thesis of SPU election program. The MP reminded that principles of socialist movement envisage struggle again oligarchs and construction of socialist society. According to Mr. Vinsky, ‘anti-crisis’ coalition does not make them its aims. Whether SPU remains socialist party or it turns into lackey of Donetsk clan; it will be my key question, he stressed.
Mr. Vinsky stressed that he did not rely on support of majority of the party congress participants. Moroz has high authority and Moroz will stay. Most likely, it will be just my position, the MP said. At the same time, Vinsky is ready to leave the party and head another one, if the SPU continues to diverge from ideological principles of Centre-Leftism. There are proposals from several parties that I should head them. They are exactly parties of center-left direction, he stated.
