Georgia is like a house of cards South Ossetian DM
If Georgia launches a military attack against South Ossetia, the whole Caucasus will rise to defend us, and Georgia will be wrecked, South Ossetian Defense Minister Anatoly Barankevich stated. Georgian leadership – its president and power ministers – are unpredictable. They do not think about consequences, Barankevich observed.
Georgia is like a house of cards now. Situation in areas populated by Armenians and Azeris is tense. Svanetia is uneasy, too. If conflict arises, Cossacks will rise to defend us. However, we ourselves have enough power to defend our independence and freedom, REGNUM correspondent quotes Anatoly Barankevich to say.
Mentioning Georgian helicopters’ flights over the South Ossetian territory, the defense minister stated that no illegal flights of Georgian helicopters over South Ossetia have been registered since Sep 3. Earlier, we recorded three or four violations of our air space weekly. Since Sep 3 when Mi 8 was fired at (Georgian Defense Minister Irakly Okruashvili was aboard – REGNUM), no violations have been registered. South Ossetian defense minister suggested that they in Georgia have come to their senses and will further abstain from flying over South Ossetian territory.
