Transdnestr CEC announced final outcomes of referendum on republican status
On September 26, Transdnestr Central Election Committee (CEC) announced final outcomes of referendum, conducted on September 17, on republican status; a REGNUM correspondent informs.
Transdnestr CEC Chairman Pyotr Denisenko informed; on September 18-25, CEC employees carefully checked and studied documents, brought from all 262 polling stations.
According to final outcomes, 78.6% of republican citizens participated in the referendum; i.e. 310,169 people eligible for voting. Responding to first question (Do you support a policy for independence of the Transdnestr Moldavian Republic and further free Transdnestr joining the Russian Federation?), 97.2% of the participants voted ‘for;’ 1.9% — ‘against.’ Responding to second question (Do you think it is possible to abandon independence of the Transdnestr Moldavian Republic with further Transdnestr joining the Republic of Moldova?), 3.3% of the participants voted ‘for;’ 94.9% — ‘against.’
