Armenia more than anybody is interested in “normal Georgian-Russian relations” — Kocharyan

Read it in Russian

“Tense relations between Georgia and Russia always also affect Armenia: our roads to Russia lie across Georgia, and volumes of our economic cooperation also depend on these relations,” president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan said Sep 30 at a joint press conference with president of France Jacques Chirac.

According to a REGNUM correspondent report, the Armenian president said he hoped that issues arisen in Georgia will be solved quickly and in a negotiating way. “I have always said both in Russia and to my Georgian colleagues that Armenia more than anybody is interested in normal Georgian-Russian relations. Maybe, even more than anybody else, because this directly affects our economic situation,” Kocharyan said.
