Our Ukraine faction leader: Orange ministers may well leave the government
Members of Our Ukraine Bloc appointed cabinet ministers by parliamentary quotas will resign from their posts, if the bloc leadership does not sign a coalition agreement with the ruling majority at the Supreme Rada. The announcement has been made today, on October 2, by Our Ukraine faction leader Roman Bessmertny on results of a session by the political council of the bloc. The pre-condition of establishing the new coalition is including text of the National Unity Universal and clear-cut guarantees of its fulfillment, a REGNUM correspondent quotes Bessmertny as saying.
The MP also notes a necessity to put in practice the Ukrainian foreign policy elaborated by the previous two governments. Another round of coalition talks will be held today; under its outcomes a decision will be made tomorrow at a session of our political council, Bessmertny says. The faction leader stresses that the decision on the ministers appointed by presidential quota in the government should be taken by President Viktor Yushchenko. Interior minister, foreign minister and defense minister are appointed by presidential quota.
As REGNUM reported earlier, the National Unity Universal was signed on August 3 by President Viktor Yushchenko and leaders of major political parties as a guarantee way out of the scaled parliamentary crisis.
