Read it in Russian

The Gazprom Company intends to raise natural gas price up to $170-250 per thousand cubic meters, president of the Energy Invest Company Geno Malazonia informed.

According to Malazonia, Energy Invest in 2007 is going to purchase 560-600mln cubic meters of natural gas from the Russian supplier. “At the level of unofficial talk, different figures are brought – from $170 to $250 per thousand cubic meters,” he said, although adding that that was before the recent aggravation of tensions between the two states, about 10 days ago.

The Energy Invest Company is a largest importer of Russian natural gas in Georgia. 58% of the company stock is property of Russian Intergazinvest and Interinvest investment companies; the rest is owned by Georgian individuals, Reuters informs.

Today, Georgia purchases Gazprom natural gas at the rate of $110 per thousand cubic meters.
