Alexander Khinshtein: No one of active politicians was interested in murder of Anna Politkovskaya
Deputy of the Russian State Duma Alexander Khinshtein kindly agreed to comment to REGNUM on the murder of Novaya Gazeta observer Anna Politkovskaya. He agreed to earlier expressed opinions that the murder is connected to the journalist’s professional activity. He identified two main themes of her professional work that could become a reason for the murder: Chechnya and the work of intelligence. Khinshtein also declared that the murder of Politkovskaya was not in any active politician’s interests.
As REGNUM reported earlier, Anna Politkovskaya was killed today, Oct 7. Her body was found 16:25 Moscow time in an elevator of the building 18/13 on Lesnaya Street. According to investigation initial report, she was shot to death. A criminal case has been initiated on the murder of the observer of the Novaya Gazeta daily Anna Politkovskaya.
