Moscow city government to help investigation and family of killed Russian reporter
Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov is indignant at killing of journalist Anna Politkovskaya. According to him, “an honest reporter, woman and mother is killed,” Luzhkov’s Spokesman Sergey Tsoy says.
Moscow City Government is ready to render full assistance to the investigation in order to find Politkovskaya’s killers; it will also help her family and children to organize her funeral, RSN reports. Data of funeral is unknown yet.
Anna Politkovskaya was killed in Moscow on October 7. As REGNUM reported earlier, her body was found near the elevator by her neighbor. Russia’s Prosecutor General Yuri Chayka has taken the investigation under his personal control. Novaya Gazeta newspaper, where the killed journalist worked, intends to hold its own investigation.
