Ramzan Kadyrov mourns for Anna Politkovskaya

Read it in Russian

“Despite not always objective character of Anna Politkovskaya’s materials about Chechnya, I sincerely and humanly feel sorry for the journalist,” on October 8, Chechen Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov stated, stressing that the accident is a big tragedy and hear-break for her relatives, colleagues and friends. The Chechen prime minister presented his sincere condolences to them.

“To attempt the life of a journalist means to violate freedom of speech, which is inadmissible in a democratic society. The case is a serious cause to think and to draw serous conclusions,” Ramzan Kadyrov stressed.

Commenting on the so-called Chechen trace at the crime, he stressed that “to suppose without any reasons and serious proofs means to argue at the level of rumors and gossips; it does not adorn neither the press nor politicians.” Kadyrov is sure the crime should be efficiently and professionally investigated to reveal both customers of the murder and murderers, Gazeta informs.

The Independent (UK) reminds that Anna Politkovskaya recently stated she had video recordings, made by mobile phone, which proved, from her point of view, Ramzan Kadyrov’s involvement in murders of Russian servicemen and kidnappings of civilians.
