US and Russian Presidents discuss nuclear test and murder of Anna Politkovskaya
US President George Bush had a phone talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin, initiated by the American side. The presidents discussed the situation over the nuclear test conduced by North Korea. Both leaders share the opinion that the North Korean demonstrative action damages the non-proliferation regime; they stress necessity to coordinate actions, aimed at the problem’s settlement in this connection. As Kremlin press office informs, Vladimir Putin stressed during the conversation that Russian law-enforcement institutions would do the utmost to objectively investigate tragic death of journalist Anna Politkovskaya.
Also, the leaders discussed aspects of preparation for forthcoming meeting in frames of OPEC summit in November 2006 in Hanoi.
