Putin calls Politkovskaya’s murder attack against Russia
On October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed murder of Russian reporter Anna Politkovskaya as attack against Russia. The Russian president promised to carry out thorough investigation of the murder.
Speaking at the Petersburg Dialog Foreum, the Russian president stressed: many people, who are escaping justice to instigate a surge of anti-Russian attitudes in the world, can resort to killing. The Russian leader assured that criminals who killed the reporter will be found and punished.
Novaya Gazeta reporter Politkovskaya was killed on October 7 at the entrance to her apartment building in Moscow. Moscow prosecution instituted a criminal procedure on the charge of premeditated murder.
Anna Politkovskaya was buried at Troekurovo Cemetery on October 10.
