President Yushchenko surrenders Our Ukraine ministers
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has made a decision concerning governmental ministers appointed by presidential quota and by Our Ukraine bloc, a REGNUM correspondent informs citing the presidential press office.
Particularly, according to Viktor Yushchenko’s Spokeswoman Irina Vannikova, the decision was made at a meeting of the president with ministers at the presidential secretariat. As for Defense Minister Anatoly Gritsenko and Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk, Viktor Yushchenko reserved to himself the right to decide on them on his own, in accordance with the current constitution and under the condition that the ministers are not members of an opposition political force.
Besides, as Irina Vannikova said in her statement, appointment and dismissal of other ministers is within competence of the government and the parliament. So, ministers who were appointed by Our Ukraine quota should be persistent in their actions and fulfill the will of the party.
It is worth mentioning, in Viktor Yanukovich’s government, Our Ukraine bloc is represented by Justice Minister Roman Zvarych, Family Affairs, Youth and Sports Minister Yuri Pavlenko, Healthcare Minister Yuri Polyachenko, and Culture and Tourism Minister Igor Likhovoy.
